Faux Postage technique

A favourite technique for masculine cards is Faux Postage.  It's like creating DSP but more focused and ideal for small images.  I used a thinlit from the Layering Squares set with a scalloped edges to look like stamps.

I used:

A teeny tiny note....

Sometimes teeny tiny elements can have a big impact as shown on this swap card I created for my community meeting this week...

I used a foam brayer to lightly add colour to the background in and used the tiny elements of the "Sealed with Love" bundle for the detail on the front.  

This bundle has 27 stamps & 14 dies - WOW!   

It's a 'love' themed card that can be used for anyone for friendship, sympathy, encouragement, etc.

Christmas comes in many colours...

I love a colour challenge like the one at Colour Throwdown this week!  Would make a beautiful autumn card - purple, magenta, red, yellow but.... since my community challenge is a non-traditional colour card for Christmas - why not these colours!

Loving the play on words....

This hostess stamp set will always be close at hand when I need to send personal cards to my friends or daughters.... I just love it!   It works well for the challenge at Color Throwdown too!

Aren't those little spools just so cute!   I fussy cut them out and wrapped real twine and metallic thread around them.

As a quilter, my friends & daughters would 'love' the symbolism!

Looking through some craft books yesterday I found some cards using paper collage as the technique, so I thought I'd give it a try for my background on my card.

I used strips of the specialty DSP Typeset and glued them down randomly across a piece of cardstock.
