SSU54 - Cheerful Critters...

Welcome to "Saturday Step Up" which is really a 'side step' today with 2 adorable cards creating with the new "Cheerful Critters" stamp set.

The left card uses paper piecing for the bunny's garment, some watercolouring on the sign and the image is fussy cut out and popped up!

The right card uses Blendabilities to colour the garment, has scoring around the edges of the Whisper White, and embossed cardbase!

I loved working on these card and think these cute 'critters' will be on many cards in the future.

Blendabilities .... a background technique!

A friend showed me this technique that I believe is from Split Coast Stampers.   Forgive me as I don't know the originator.

But it was lots of fun!

I coloured a plastic baggie with a variety of colours, then spritz'd with rubbing alcohol to have the colours bleed, and finally placed cardstock over the blended colour.

I used:

• Vellum cardstock
• Distressing tool
• Rhinestones

I stepped up the left card by adding another layer with the background DSP, added some distressing with ink around the flower, added a torn edge to the floral piece, and coloured and added some pearls.

SSU53 - You're Wonderful....!

If you love colouring, one of the newest photopolymer sets is for you - You're Wonderful!

I've used it today for "Saturday Step Up!" 

I stepped up the left card by adding an extra mat (Old Olive) with a zigzag edge on the Melon Mambo mat from my Rotary attachment on my trimmer, stamped separate flowers and popped up some petals and small flower, used the 'banner' image and popped up the greeting.

Making Spirits Bright....

While I was creating cards for my Blendabilities Club, I switched gears to colour this 'cocktail' and create a quick and cute holiday card.

SSU52 - Christmas tags

Welcome to "Saturday Step Up" and a first look at the stamp set "Wondrous Wreath"!

It was one of the sets I said "Oh yes, got to have this one!!" when I first looked at the Holiday catalogue and it has a matching Framelit set!!!  A terrific bundle priced at $53.25!

Here's two holiday tags:

I stepped up the left tag by popping up with dimensionals the wreath and greeting, added detailing around the edge, used real ribbon for the bow, used a gold embossed greeting and used coloured rhinestones for the berries.

I coloured the berries with my Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities marker.

Here's a more detailed shot of the stepped up tag showing the glitz.

Here's a sneak peek from the upcoming Holiday catalogue for "Saturday Step Up"!

I just loved this cute house stamp set and couldn't wait to try it!

I stepped up the left house by adding 'clouds' with a scallop edge, sponge and ink; popped up a fully coloured house; added detailing on the ground; and used a rotary blade for the fancy edge around the whole scene.

Framelits create the perfect Mat...

Your BIG SHOT and framelits are an indispensable part of any paper crafting but especially when you want the perfect mat for your focal point!!!  The 'nested' Oval framelits are used on my card today.

If you're new to my blog, it's rare that I stamp inside a card but it was ideal to match with the greeting.
