Hopes for a child....

No matter how much technology exists today, my daughter looks in that mailbox everyday for a card from Mum!!

I always love to send one with little things tucked inside.  Here's a message meant for retirement but I think it works well for a young adult planning their life....

Inspiration from history!

Last Friday, my family went to the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum) for the day.  What a fantastic place!  I had never been there before and I so enjoyed the visit. 

From the special Pompeii Exhibition I was so inspired by the mosaic pieces and frescos that I had to try something with my crafting.  So welcome to "Manly Monday" and my mosaic....

MM94 - For All Things is perfect for Bleach Blot technique....

Welcome to "Manly Monday" and the technique Bleach Blot!   You need a stamp set like For All Things that has stamps that lend well to collage stamping to do this technique.

I took a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock, created the collage stamping and then bleached the fern image.   Then I cut the label from the Chalk Talk framelits.

I used these items to create my card:

Sneak Peek - Not your usual Fall colours.....

Just playing around with the new stamp set "For All Things" and couldn't resist trying a very different colour combo - Smoky Slate, Wisteria Wonder & Strawberry Slush....

MM90 - For all Things....

If you are one of the many admirers of the stamp set "Work of Art", then you're going to love the new "For All Things" stamp set in the Holiday catalogue.   It has that same 'watercolour' style to the images.

Today's card for "Manly Monday" uses only the 'wheat' image with the Faux Wax Seal technique.   

Of course my BIG SHOT was used to embossed the background layer and cut out the leaves, especially making it easier to use this technique on a large piece of cardstock.
