Creative Blog Hop .... Today!

Welcome to the Creative Blog Hop and my "Manly Monday" entry today!

I'm honoured to be selected by my friend Louise Cyr to participate in this hop.   Louise loves to challenge herself with 'on-line' challenges and she's mastering them very well!

Today I'm sharing one of my favourite techniques - Faux Postage and a video with the details!

We're also asked to answer these 4 questions as participants.

What are you working on now?

I'm always designing for upcoming classes and working my Stampin' Up! business.  As well, I'm currently building my crafting video library so any card, project, technique, tip or class I work on I try to work into a video to share with other crafters.  The latest craze for me personally is working with our Blendabilities markers.  They are so amazing and versatile and now a FREE option for your Sale-a-bration item to add to your collection!

How does your work differ from others in your genre?

I don't know that my work fits a particular genre but I always try to have a twist to my projects.  I will include a stamping technique, or a fun fold, or highlight a new way to use a product on my projects.   I guess that's my difference, making it unique.

Why do you create what you do?

I've been creative in some fashion since i was a little girl.   I started with sewing, then to needlecrafts, then scrapbooking and all sorts of paper crafts and mixed media.  Being creative is a very large part of my identity and life.  I love sharing creativity with others and growing in my knowledge from others.

How does your creative process work?

When I sit down to create a card or project there is usually a particular product that I want to feature.  I think about what style and colour to use first.  Then if a stamping technique is possible or a sketch for inspiration could be used.   I begin gathering bits and pieces of items and then start putting together what I like until a final result appears.  I'm very fortunate that I can envision the result or take something I've seen and adapt it to the current project.  That's basically my creative process in a nutshell....

Thanks for joining me for today's blog hop and Louise for the nomination!

I've nominated two very talented ladies to join us next Monday, March 2, 2015.

Leena Girsa from A La Cards has a magical touch with the simplest items and turns them into beautiful creations!  I'm sure you'll agree by checking out Leena's Blog next Monday or any day you're looking for inspiration!

Tina Weller from The Serene Stamper has a charming touch and draws on her love of crafting to produce beautiful creations!  Enjoy paging through Tina's Blog next Monday or any day your mojo needs that boost!

Have a wonderful week and thanks for sharing some time with Jamilla's Stampin' Grounds!

  1. Thank you Jamilla! I too love the faux postage technique and now will be able to refer to your video if I am not sure of a step or two. It is very appropriate for a "manly card". I think you described your creative process very well and it is always so much fun to go to your classes and see the results of this process and benefit from your knowledge. Love this version of the technique today and you are right : YOU ROCK!
