Color Throwdown Challenge!

Phew.... we're in the depths of summer heat and humidity here in Southern Ontario...!  

So I thought it best to get cozy at my crafting desk in my air conditioned familyroom and worked on the Color Throwdown challenge.

I used:

MM162 - 'Camo' Technique

Today I tried a new stamping technique that I saw recently called the 'camo' effect!   You use ink and crinkling the cardstock to provide the 'look'!

It's a combo of these colours: Old Olive, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede and Early Espresso.

I used:

Love that embossing...

Heat embossing just adds that bit of sparkle to lift a card to the next level!

I heat embossing in white the greeting and added Iridescent Ice over the spots on the balloon!   Might be hard to see in this photo but IRL it's very pretty!

Loving the play on words....

This hostess stamp set will always be close at hand when I need to send personal cards to my friends or daughters.... I just love it!   It works well for the challenge at Color Throwdown too!

Aren't those little spools just so cute!   I fussy cut them out and wrapped real twine and metallic thread around them.

As a quilter, my friends & daughters would 'love' the symbolism!

ColourQ challenge

I got a call that my best friend's Mum passed away this morning.  I sat down to do a sympathy card and saw this ColourQ challenge on my desk and thought the colours would work perfectly.

It's hard to see the sparkily on the flowers and leaves but it's there with Wink of Stella (clear).

Here's a fancy fold Birthday card!

While creating cards for a class yesterday I searched through my flipchart booklet of fancy folds and "ping".... the Side Easel jumped out!

MM127 - A turtle's birthday...

Welcome to "Manly Monday" and birthday wishes with the new set "From Land to Sea".

I just love colouring with my aqua painters!!  This week I'll have a video showcasing how to quickly watercolour with your ink and aqua painters without pilling the paper.

I also sponged ink over a piece of the Color Me Irresistible DSP which is pre-embossed.

Watercolour sneak peek...

This beautiful flower is part of the new stamp set "You've Got This" in the Artistic Expression section of the upcoming new catalogue.

Using Melon Mambo/Old Olive/Marina Mist inks and my aquapainter, I watercoloured the flower and background on watercolour paper.  I usually do a light 'wash' first then add more ink to create darker spots and highlights/shadows.
